The staffing industry had both highs and lows this past year. Specifically, in the technology sector, workers were losing jobs as a recession was approaching. The people who took part in staffing were crucially needed, since the past couple years have proven the economy should always be prepared for any major and sudden changes that can affect the job market.
Below are trends we will most likely see in the staffing industry for employers:
1. Hybrid work culture will stay
– The rise of hybrid/remote work was and still is at an all-time high since the covid-19 pandemic. With the growing popularity, it is predicted that jobs will continue to hire people with the option to work from home. Also, this factor is a necessity for some job seekers. Due to that, employers have adjusted their positions to be flexible to remote work to attract more candidates.
2. DE&I (diversity, equity, and inclusion) to gain more prominence
– Companies have made DE&I a priority amid recent discrimination and inequality going on in the world. To help support all communities, companies seek to hire a wide range of diversity. Forbes concluded that 80% of professionals made diversity hiring a priority in staffing trends for 2022 and plan on continuing that.
3. Corporate reputation will matter to the job seeker
– Good reputation is key in any business to pull in applicants. Many people do extensive research on a place’s reputation to ensure they will be happy with the job position, if hired.
4. Focus on employee satisfaction and retention
– Going along with corporate reputation, once someone is hired, its important to make sure they stand to feel comfortable in the organization. If businesses fail to make sure a person is adjusting well to the job, they can risk losing them. We hope to see this trend continue in 2023.
5. Data to drive innovation
– As said many times before, data and technology continue to evolve, and will in 2023. With extensive technology, the staffing industry is able to help their services by using applicant tracking systems. This and other software systems ease the stress to staff vacant job positions. 2023 is predicted to see more strategies developed from data to drive innovation.
6. AI (artificial intelligence) in recruitment
– The staffing industry has been and currently relies on AI to help them find talent. Not all organizations take advantage of AI. There are numerous AI tools that can benefit staffing, specifically the recruitment process for 2023.
7. CRM (Candidate relationship management)
– CRM is important in staffing to keep candidates wanting the job position. People who work in staffing should prioritize a healthy relationship with potential employees to keep them motivated and salve modern-day talent issues. Some hires might have learned their lesson on this in recent times, as they lose qualified people, so it should be a popular trend this coming year.
