Earlier in his career he received the distinction of “40 under 40” in Philadelphia, which recognizes a group of young business people annually for their roles in the business and civic community.
Passionate in regards to not-for-profit and charitable initiatives, Drew has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East and Europe – including Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Serbia, Guatemala, and Israel – to work closely with victims of war and genocide or those afflicted by poverty. In 2013, he founded the American Balkan Leadership Enterprise (ABLE), a U.S. based non-profit organization to provide economic development and humanitarian support to the Balkans. He frequently travels to the region as a speaker and presenter.
For more than 25 years, Drew has served as a board member for various organizations. The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Foundation has been a special focus of his efforts. Among his accomplishments, he involved HOBY with the 1997 Presidents’ Summit for Volunteerism and has traveled with Hugh O’Brian, HOBY’s founder, to establish programs in Europe and the Middle East. Drew was presented HOBY’s Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of his work to serve youth throughout the world.
He currently serves as a member of the board of trustees of Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, chairman and president of ABLE, chairman of the Board of Governors of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation, a board member and director of the MidAtlantic Employers’ Association, Education Works, and several private companies.
